Driving up to Palo Alto to see my play Sister Cities, I passed through Gilroy– the garlic capital of California. Now, I love garlic… garlic bread, garlic pizza, garlic french fries…okay, pretty much any combination of garlic and carbohydrates. However, when one is exposed to such an inordinate amount of garlic, it actually becomes nauseating. I think I finally understand the expression “too much of a good thing.”
Driving past quaint farmer’s stand after quaint farmer’s stand offering tastes of garlic ice cream… I think my love affair with garlic must come to an abrupt end.
